In this interview Doug Eadline, the Managing Editor from HPCwire, speaks with two leading scientists from the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. They discuss some of the latest developments on how AI/ML are enabling and accelerating AI workflows in science. These topics include the challenges that exist in the AI lifecycle for scientific research, as well as a discussion of federated learning. Kyle Chard is a Research Associate Professor at the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory, and Co-Lead at Globus Labs. Ravi Madduri is a Senior Computer Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory and holds a joint appointment at the University of Chicago and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
