Globus enables reliable, high-performance, secure file sharing. Attend this workshop at Michigan State University to learn more about how to use this service to get data to and from the HPCC, share it with collaborators (even at other institutions), and automate research data management tasks within the construct of your workflows.

Research and educational institutions continue to adopt Globus for managing research data. While core Globus capabilities - including reliable file transfer and secure sharing - are the primary focus, there is a growing need to provide robust mechanisms for accessing diverse resources as part of research workflows. Over the past year, Globus released a number of tools that facilitate development of science gateways, data portals, and other custom applications and services to support researchers.

In this talk we will review the capabilities of Globus software-as-a-service and how it presents a secure, unified interface for data transfer and sharing at Michigan State University. We will then take a deeper dive into services and tools comprising the Globus platform-as-a-service, and provide examples on how these capabilities can be integrated into applications and workflows
