For more than 50 years, HPC has supported tremendous advances in all areas of science. But densely-populated communities can more easily support subscription-based commodity networks and energy infrastructure that make it more affordable for urban universities to engage globally. Research centers based in sparsely-populated regions are extremely disadvantaged. HPCwire describes how researchers in far-flung places are dealing with these challenges, and how Globus facilitates fast, reliable file transfer, irrespective of distance and network conditions.

ESnet’s Petascale DTN Project Speeds up Data Transfers between Leading HPC Centers

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science operates three of the world’s leading supercomputing centers, where massive data sets are routinely imported, analyzed, used to create simulations and exported to other sites. Fortunately, DOE also runs a networking facility, ESnet (short for Energy Sciences Network), the world’s fastest network for science, which is managed by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

November 13, 2017 (All day) to November 16, 2017 (All day)

Globus is excited about this year's Supercomputing Conference. Our theme for 2017 is "Connecting your Research Universe” -- visit our booth and learn how Globus makes it easier to connect your universe of research data to the researchers who need it.

Visit Globus in Booth #373

As always, Globus will have an exhibit where attendees can meet with our experts, see demos, and get questions answered. We'll also have a few new activities -- and surprises! -- so be sure to stop by to:

November 13, 2016 (All day) to November 18, 2016 (All day)

We are presenting a day-long developer tutorial at SC16. Please join us to learn how services on the recently launched Globus platform can be used in your portals, science gateways, and web applications to deliver robust research data management services.

Exhibit: Booth #436

We are pleased to sponsor the conference for the seventh straight year, and will have an exhibit where attendees can meet with Globus team members. Stop by and let's discuss your research data management needs.

November 16, 2015 (All day) to November 19, 2015 (All day)

Once again, we are pleased to be selected to present a tutorial at SC. WePlease join us to learn how to deploy Globus and deliver robust data management capabilities to your organization. A particular emphasis this year will be on the recently released Globus data publication and discovery capabilities.

Exhibit: Booth #383

We are also pleased to sponsor the conference and will have an exhibit where attendees can meet with Globus team members. Stop by and let's discuss your research data management needs.

April 26, 2015 (All day) to April 30, 2015 (All day)

The Internet2 Global Summit showcases how the research and education community is transforming the way research and scholarship are conceived and conducted. This year's meeting will focus on the advancement of research capabilities through collaborative innovations in IT infrastructure and applications. Globus services are broadly used across dozens of Internet2 member institutions and we continue to work closely with Internet2 (and other networking groups such as ESnet) to optimize Globus on emerging high-speed network infrastructure.
