GT 3.9.1 Java WSRF Core Preview Release Notes

This release of the Globus Toolkit® contains a preview implementation of the WS-ResourceLifetime, WS-ResourceProperties, WS-BaseFaults, and WS-BaseNotification specifications. This preview will evolve into the foundation of the web services based portion of the upcoming 4.0 release.

In addition to the features and limitations described in the 3.9.0 release notes this release contains:

• Support for securing web service invocations:
  • GSI Secure Conversation and GSI Secure Message Support
  • Service and Resource level security settings and policy
  • Limitations:
    • Secure Notifications are not yet supported
    • The mechanism for client side security settings will be reworked.
• A resolver service which can be used to convert simple URIs to WS-Addressing endpoint references. It is intended to allow users of command line clients to specify an endpoint address as a URI instead of having to pass a full blown endpoint reference.
